L&R300 – Notes, November
You just keep getting better and better! There were another 18 PBs this month and with 16 of you scoring over 200 the standard of the archery in this competition keeps on going up and up.
Alex Kirk continues to improve in the recurve and has extended his lead at the top. His best before this season was 210 so to shoot 272 this month is amazing. Out of my range I’m afraid. Callum who also shot a PB, of 262, has leapfrogged David into 2nd place. I suspect that this is going to be a very good competition between the three of them.
There were 6 PBs altogether in the recurve; Niall Brown, Matthew Greedy, David Husbands and Rico Collins shooting the others, Rico’s taking him in to 4th place.
With Amy down on
what she shot in October, Sarah missed a chance to close the gap between them. The four archers below the top two all
secured PBs including the
James already has a big lead in the boys compound, shooting a brilliant score of 290. It’s difficult to see him being beaten. Sorry Edward.
Mia improved again in the girls, moving past the 200, and it was good to see Alex back again in the competition.
There’s not a lot of competition unfortunately in the longbow and barebow categories, which is a shame because Finlay again shot well and Heather shot a PB. It’s good to see Ethan back again after going missing in October.
Kirby lead the
team competition still but this month their score was only 10 points better
than Melton’s. This is going to be a
close competition – I can see Melton pushing Kirby all
the way; there’ll be no let up.
Similarly Kirby and Melton 2nds look destined to be locked in a close
battle for 3rd place but
There were so many PBs it’s difficult again to select the most improved archers of the month. Heather however, added 57 points to her score in October and therefore has to be the most improved girl, while there’s so little to choose between Rico and David Husbands that I see them as joint most improved boys.
There’s no L&R300 in December, though any score you shoot could be submitted for January.
Have a good Christmas everyone.
